Welcome!

We are researchers who study fossils and living plants to understand plant evolution, phylogeny, and diversity through time. Our lab is based at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas, as part of the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and the Biodiversity Institute. The Division of Paleobotany in the Biodiversity Institute was established in 1888 and hosts some 400,000 specimens spanning the Precambrian through the recent, with particular strengths in Antarctic paleobotany. Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions about our work or the paleobotanical collections!
